Getting to spend the entire day with your very best friend in the whole wide world....... PRICELESS!!!!

Saturday December 6th was pretty much the best day I have had all year! Last February I got Celine Dion Tickets, that was BEFORE my best friend Tracy who lived in Phoenix moved to Colorado! I didn't think she would really fly all the way out here for the concert but she did! She got in at 11pm Friday night! I got the day off from work and we left early Saturday morning at 8am to drive to Phoenix. The day was flawless! The drive was perfect, we had plenty of time to talk and catch-up after the last 8 months of being apart. First we stopped at Starbucks; I got a Chai Latte and she got a Carmel Apple Spice, both tasted like Heaven. Then we stopped to get pedicures, we picked a random place and it was the best pedicure I ever had. We picked the same color, a Christmas red and we both got little snowmen and a Christmas Tree painted on our big toes. After our pedicure we went to lunch at a neat little Mexican food place, Valle la Luna. We ate on the patio in the warm sunshine and watched as the birds and ducks pirated food crumbs from the concrete. The view was beautiful overlooking a fountain and lake. The food was fantastic, she got enchiladas and I got tacos. Then we went to the mall to shop, I got some fantastic shoes and Tracy got some handpainted ornaments she was looking for. The day was passing quickly and we decided to drive down to the Jobing.com area where the concert was being held! We arrived at 5:30 and got a prime parking space right up front. We decided that we better eat dinner, eventhough we were not that hungry, it was getting late and we wanted to avoid the rush. We went to Kabuki for Sushi and Cocktails. She had a Red Pomegranate Martini and I had a Red Leechie-Tini. Soooo Good! We got some terrific sushi rolls and a salad. We carried out our tradition of exchanging Christmas ornaments, she gave me an adorable reindeer ornament, two reindeer lady friends buying shoes, just like we had just done at the mall, I got her a kitty cat (something I always bought her as a kid) and a WISH ornament (in the WISH that 2009 will be better for us both), we always try to pick meaningful ornaments and this year was no exception, they were very special! By this time the Courtyard to the Arena was getting packed with people. We decided to walk around a bit and see the sights before we stood in line to get in, after all I needed to break in my new shoes and bare the blisters of window shopping! Once we did get into the arena we got to our seats in the very back row, but it didn't matter where we sat. We were together, we were seeing CELINE DION in concert and we had had a fabulous day, it could only get better and IT DID! Celine was amazing! He voice, her stage presence, everything was better than expected. The only thing was... it all ended all to quickly. Before I knew it, we were driving home, it was 2 am and we were saying good-bye! It seemed like I was just standing in the driveway, donning my fuzzy slippers and pajama pants waving our tickets in the air as she drove up. Where did the time go? How could it be over already? I could barely choke back the tears, I've missed her so much and saying good-bye was so difficult. The lump in my throat swelled as I hugged her tight and I cried all the way to the door, and I know she cried too. It's hard to say good-bye, but we have the pictures and the memories, the wonderful memories and the PROMISE that we WILL see each other again!!! Our time together may be less often now but it will be the BEST time EVER!!!!!
Love you Trace
