Amazement

Wow, this is soooo cool!!!!

Carter's Cubby!

Look Mom! It's Different!!!
"YAY, I LOVE PRE-K" (that is what he was cheering)
Lining up the lunch boxes

Carter chants "I'm Fast, I'm Fast, I'm Really Really Fast"
My Sweet Boy Carter had his first day of Pre-K on Monday! I love seeing him so happy and excited. School brings out the best in Carter. He loves the structure. My shy little man who rarely speaks to strangers has been telling anybody and everybody that he is starting Pre-K. He says proudly "I get to go to Pre-K, I go everyday, I am FOUR!"
I have been a parent for 14 years now and I will never tire of seing that excitement in a child's eyes over their first day of school! Even tonight as I helped Gabrielle pack her backpack full of brand new school supplies, I loved seeing that twinkle in her eyes as she anticipated the day ahead! That first day of a new school year is so exciting in a young person's life, whether it be Pre-K or 8th grade or Freshman year in college!
Carter's face was priceless as we drove off to school! At first he was a little camera shy but after a few of my silly jokes he was comforatable again! I took my traditional "walking to the school door" picture. He stopped at the front door with a puzzled look! He recognized some of the letters from the Welcome sign but he turned around and said "How come it doesn't say C-A-R-T-E-R???" I laughed, I told him it said Welcome! He said "Well I think it should say Carter!" LOL
When he walked through the door it was like Christmas! The wonderment on his face was priceless and I wished I had my video camera. The room had transformed and was completely different from the previous year. Everything was rearranged and the themes were totally different! He just kept saying over and over again..."It's all brand new Mommy, It's all different!" He was so excited!!!! The pictures really do say it all, especially #12. He put his toy in his cubby and his lunch box on the shelf and then he ran outside to play with the other kids! He ran off some of his excitement, he gave me a tight hug and quick kiss and good-bye it was! I was so happy knowing that he was happy and confident and safe, I knew he would have a good day and he did he really, really did!!!!
